What is Little Lukes? A Resource for New Parents

Welcome! If you are reading this, you are likely a new parent or a parent searching for a new educational daycare for your child. Little Lukes is a certified preschool and childcare center specializing in early childhood education and development. With locations in Oswego, Fulton, Pulaski, Dewitt, and Baldwinsville, we service families in the Oswego County and Syracuse areas. How is Little Lukes Different from Other Childcare Centers?

At Little Lukes, our mission is to get your children ready for kindergarten! We ONLY employ NYS certified teachers, special education teachers, and therapists, including pediatric physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and school psychologists. All of our teachers and therapists must continue their education in order to maintain their certifications and licenses.

Little Lukes uses the accredited Learning Without Tears “Get Set for School” program. This program follows NYS learning standards and is extremely hands-on and interactive, utilizing multisensory activities. These hands-on activities focus on developing skills in numbers, math, writing, letters, language, literacy, and physical and social development.

While we follow NYS learning standards to ensure every child is being exposed to every learning facet, we also recognize children are individuals and learn at their own speed. Every single child is challenged at their individual level, ensuring they receive the guidance they need. Little Lukes is an inclusion preschool, where children with developmental disabilities are taught in the same room with typically developing children. If your child has a disability, they will be included in all the same hands-on and interactive activities as the rest of the group. Our certified Special Education Teacher will customize the activity to your child’s abilities, if needed.

Little Lukes focuses on healthy education and physical development, helping young children get ready for kindergarten. With NYS certified teachers and top-quality curriculum, we pride ourselves on being the top-rated Oswego and Onondaga County preschool in kindergarten readiness.

 

 

We use the accredited Learning Without Tears “Get Set for School” program. This program focuses on six major domains.

 

 

 

Little Lukes offers childcare from 6 weeks to 12 years, with centers in Oswego, Fulton, Pulaski, Baldwinsville, and Dewitt. Each center offers full time care for 6 weeks through preschool age. Before school care and after school care is offered for children from kindergarten 12 years. (Before school care is not available for Dewitt.)
