Consider discussing with your child’s physician if one or more of the following are observed:

qUnable to throw a ball overhand
qUnable to jump in place
qUnable to ride/pedal a tricycle
qUnable to use a crayon held between thumb and fingers
qUnable to or has difficulty scribbling
qUnable to stack 4 blocks
qUnable to easily separate from parents
qShows no interest in interactive games (e.g. game of chase, Simon Says)
qIgnores other children and other people outside of their family
qDoes not engage in fantasy play
qDifficulty dressing, sleeping, and/or using the toilet
qUnable to copy a circle
qUnable to use sentences/phrases of more than 3 words
qDoes not use “me” and “you” correctly
qExperiences a dramatic loss of skill he/she once had

A child in this age range would be referred to the Committee on Preschool Special Education(CPSE). For more information contact your school district’s special education office.
