Speech Pathologist Staff at Little Lukes Preschool & Childcare Center in Fulton

Chris’ Speech Pathology Background

Chris Coufal has been a Speech Pathologist at Little Lukes Preschool & Childcare Center in Fulton since July 2015.

A Speech-Language Pathologist, or Speech Therapist, is a healthcare professional that works on diverse set communication and eating skills through evaluation and treatment of clients and students from the early intervention population all the way through the geriatric population.  Speech language pathologists work with anyone who needs help communicating.

“I chose to be a Speech Pathologist after seeing a documentary about strokes that featured a section discussing how therapists help stroke patients regain communication skills.  After doing more research and shadowing a therapist, I knew that the profession was for me,” said Coufal.

I wasn’t originally planning to work with kids, to be honest.  After having my first placement in a school while finishing college, I had a blast and saw the light!  There’s something wonderful about knowing that the work that you’re doing today will have a lifelong impact on children and future generations,” said Coufal.

The Little Lukes Atmosphere

“Fulton Little Lukes truly is a community.  The parents, students, administrators and teachers all work together to create a warm, nurturing environment that is fun for all to be a part of,” said Coufal, “it’s such a fun environment!  There’s so much joy and honor in helping to set the foundational blocks of communication and learning.”
